Essays from Wil's life (some of which may have appeared in slightly altered form on his weblog), culled or rescued from his upcoming book JUST A GEEK -- which just didn't have the room for these spiffy essays.
Wheaton's got lots of humor and soul: an unabashed geek, albeit a geek who possesses both a sensitive (yet manly, with a musky, Victor Mature-like scent) heart and the writing skill to communicate what that heart is feeling to his readers.
At first blush, the physical book is somewhat light -- 117 pages, with a slightly large font and cute art by Ben Claassen III -- for $13 bucks. After reading it, however, I did not find it egregiously so: the quality of the writing (and the sentiments within) is high. Factor in that DANCING BAREFOOT is an indie-publisher book, and $13 is a pretty fair price for what you get.
I close this review with the highest praise I as a writer can think of to give a fellow scribbler: I want JUST A GEEK. Now.
